  • A Look Inside the Yarn Store

Posted on 24/08/2015 by A Rum Fellow

The premises of a yarn supplier in Guatemala is every bit as colourful as you would imagine. Inside is an endless maze of rooms packed floor to ceiling with yarns, narrow corridors and steps lead to yet more rooms with every colour, material, and weight of yarn imaginable. • Rare Bird Street Art by ATM

Posted on 24/08/2015 by A Rum Fellow

ATM is a London based street artist who paints rare British bird species across the London to highlight the need to preserve our native populations. We're lucky enough to have a few of his pieces in our neighbourhood and we love them! The vibrant paintings stand up to 3 metres tall and make a huge impact, they depict native species such as the lapwing or the bustard whose populations have been obliterated by habitat destruction or hunting. Beautiful artwork and a super important message...here are some images for you to enjoy. You can follow ATM here with these links to his facebook, twitter and instagram.

  • Ikat Armchair in Farrow & Ball Advert

Posted on 13/03/2015 by A Rum Fellow

The masters of quality paint Farrow & Ball have featured our Caterina Ikat Wing Chair in their latest advertisement. It does look rather stunning too! The armchair is handmade here in England and adorned with our signature 'Caterina Ikat' and 'Boda' artisan textiles. The meticulously handcrafted textiles are ethically produced for us by a Mayan weaving cooperative in Guatemala. The traditional ikat is carefully bound to form the pattern, before being resistance dyed and woven by hand.  The artful 'Boda' feature panel is an intricate brocade achieved by embroidering the vibrant pattern into the weft whilst simultaneously hand weaving the base cloth.  Our master upholsterer skilfully matches the bold zig zag patterns across the chair.  See the Caterina Ikat Wing Chair here.
