Arrington Sofa - Chixoy Brocade & Volcan Ikat

Quick Overview

Our inhouse designed Arrington sofa has a nod to the decadence of the 1930's with its sweeping curved arms and kidney shaped seat. Handcrafted and skilfully upholstered in England. The frame is solid beech wood. Comfy seat cushion. Gold leafed and lacquered legs which are also available in brass or multiple wood finishes.

Available in custom combinations of fabric and upholstery placements. Shown here upholstered in a combination Volcan ikat with a rich cotton velour fabric and a luxurious feature panel of Chixoy brocade which wraps around the entire back.

This sofa can be commissioned in any combination of our tapestries and combined with plain fabrics to create a truly bespoke piece. Please contact us to discuss options and for quotes.

The Ikat is created entirely by hand using traditional methods. The yarns are bound by hand to create the pattern. It is then resistance dyed and when the binds are untied the pattern appears. This process makes the characteristic feathered edge of an ikat design where the dye has seeped in at the edge of the binds. The yarn is then set onto a pedal loom and hand woven. The brocade panels are hand woven and embroidered by Maya weavers on a backstrap loom, each meticulous brocade panel takes a weaver 1 month to achieve..
