A NEW COLLECTION OF HANDWOVEN TEXTILES
THAT CELEBRATE THE QUIET RESILIENCE AND BEAUTY OF RURAL LIFE
Comprising six distinct designs, the Wild Abandon Collection explores a dialogue between pattern, texture and the rhythms of daily living. Stripes, bands and gentle checks recall the spirit of heirloom linens and cloths shaped by generations of making and mending, where practicality and decoration sit naturally side by side.
Together, the pieces reflect a grounded, soulful aesthetic inspired by the rolling wilds of Wales and the textures of the natural landscape. The fabrics evoke the calm of a home shaped by care and resourcefulness, where handmade objects bring warmth, character and quiet richness to everyday spaces.
"There's a deep sense of familiarity in these textiles, a feeling of things lovingly made and lived with. They echo the spirit of homemaking and the quiet beauty of cloth that carries memory, care and craft within its threads."
Caroline Lindsell, Creative Director, A RUM FELLOW
Each design is entirely woven by hand using traditional techniques on backstrap and horizontal looms by our artisan partners in Guatemala. Crafted from ethically sourced cotton the collection reflects A RUM FELLOW's commitment to thoughtful design, heritage craftsmanship and the enduring beauty of natural materials.
Behind the designs is a deep commitment to ethical production. As a certified B Corp, we pair contemporary design with traditional skills while rewriting how artisans are supported. We pay a substantial wage premium that far exceeds national averages and local living wages to provide true financial security.
For Wild Abandon, this impact is realised through deep partnerships that foster true financial independence. The collection enables a group of marginalised indigenous women to achieve social and economic empowerment, while also providing sustainable long term livelihoods to floor loom artisans in a family owned workshop built with interest free loans we provided. This approach has enabled one master weaver to grow from a single loom in his father's house to running a newly built workshop with multiple looms, providing employment for a team of local skilled artisans.
To protect the slow production process, we handle all material sourcing and logistics so the weavers can focus entirely on their artistry. Our supportive model is built on interest free loans, technical training delivered in native indigenous languages, a democratic governance structure run by the weavers themselves, and ongoing dialogue.
Design should be a force for positive change, and the Wild Abandon collection of fabrics proves this approach can be as impactful as it is beautiful.
