FLATWEAVE

Flat weave rugs, also known as dhurries or kelims, are woven on a loom, created by interlocking warp (vertical) and weft (horizontal) threads to form a non-pile rug. Flatweave rugs have a low profile and lighter weight, they are very durable and easy to care for.

Our flatweave rugs are crafted in India. All our rugs are certified by Goodweave who work to eradicate child labour and promote high standards within the rug industry.

Hand knotting is an ancient rug craft by which the most intricate designs are achieved. Crafted on a vertical loom skilled artisans tie individual knots with yarn around a vertical warp. The knotting process is slow and meticulous, it takes thousands of knots create the design row by row. Once the rug has been knotted it passes through many more skilled hands to execute the washing, fine carving and finishing. Hand knotted rugs have a refined pile and medium profile.

Our hand knotted rugs are crafted in Nepal and India. All of our rugs our certified by Goodweave who work to eradicate child labour and promote high standards within the rug industry.
