NEWS | nepal flood fundraiser - winner announced
A RUM FELLOW has raised almost £4000 for the nepal food relief following ouR ‘win a rug’ raffle.
The floods that hit northern Nepal on 26 August have killed more than 1,450 people, with more than 5,000 still missing and around 1.6 million affected. Homes, roads and bridges have been destroyed.
The Red Cross and Nepal Red Cross Society are on the ground providing shelter, safe water, health care, relief supplies and mental health support, and will be needed for the long recovery ahead.
A large part of our weaving community live in Nepal and whilst luckily not directly affected by the floods, we wanted to show our full support. In late September A RUM FELLOW launched a Prize Draw to support the British Red Cross Nepal Flood Appeal, with 100% of our proceeds going directly to immediate emergency aid and long-term rebuilding efforts.
One lucky winner has been chosen and informed, and they will receive a bespoke hand-knotted rug of their choice - any design, any listed color, and any size up to 8 m² to perfectly fit their home.
Thank you to all of our friends and clients who bought tickets to help support this important cause - one close to our hearts. Together you raised £3,960 for the British Red Cross Nepal Floods Appeal.
